The investment project Modernization of the Urea Plant according to Basic Design by Urea Casale in Zakłady Azotowe „PUŁAWY” SA, in which PROZAP played the role of a chief design and engineering contractor, was awarded first prize in the Industrial category of the nation-wide contest „Modernization of the Year 2011″. The presentation of awards took place on 29 August 2012 in the Royal Castle in Warsaw. The award was received by Marek Zatorski, PROZAP’s President & CEO.
In this year’s edition of the contest, called informally the Oscar of Construction Industry, there were 823 investment projects submitted falling into 15 categories. The organizers of the competition are Targi Pomorskie Sp. z o.o. and the Association for Preservation of the National Material Heritage. The patronage with regard to merit of the contest was provided by, i.a. Ministry of Transport, Construction and Maritime Economy, Chief Inspector Of Environmental Protection, General Inspector of Building Control, National Fund for Environmental Protection, Ministry of National Education and Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

PROZAP, being a multi-discipline design and engineering company, located in Puławy, played a key role in the execution of this complex, multi-stage project, requiring specialists of all disciplines. We participated in the project starting from the the stage of a general concept, through consecutive modernizations of urea production trains, design and construction of a new water treatment plant, integration with existing melamine plants to final interconnecting of all the elements into an efficiently working system – says Marek Zatorski, PROZAP’s President & CEO.

PROZAP’s team of designers and engineers employed state-of-the-art technical and organization skills, as carrying out the revamping could not interfere with the operation of the existing plants. The project, including also revamping of ammonia plants, was a success owing to a close cooperation with the plant owner and technology providers, such as Urea Casale or Fertilizer Research Institute in Pulawy. We are even happier to receive the award as it coincides with the 40th anniversary of our engineering bureau. This Oscar of Construction Industry goes to a company with years of experience, comprising people for whom design and engineering are lifetime passions – adds President Zatorski.
