NITROCHEM and Grupa Azoty develop cooperation in the area of the production of high-energy materials

On 24^th of November 2025 NITRO-CHEM S.A. and PROZAP Sp. z o.o. (a company being a part of Grupa Azoty Capital Group) signed an agreement to prepare design documentation for a new production plant of high-energy explosives, including hexogen (RDX) and, alternatively, octogen (HMX). The documentation, prepared by PROZAP, will form the basis for the implementation of the investment project at the NITRO-CHEM S.A. site.
This is another step in implementing the letter of intent signed this year between NITRO-CHEM S.A. and Grupa Azoty, under which both entities expand their joint expertise in the design and construction of explosives production facilities. This project is of strategic importance for the development of the domestic defense industry and strengthens NITRO-CHEM S.A.’s position as a global leader in the production of high-quality high-energy explosives. The investment will increase the plant’s production capacity and the flexibility of its technological processes, enabling the simultaneous production of hexogen and octogen, as well as the intermediates necessary for their production. The new plant responds to the growing demand from the defense industry and its customers for high-energy explosives of the highest quality parameters.

Karol Przybyszewski, Member of the Management Board of NITRO-CHEM S.A., added: “Collaborating with PROZAP, a company with extensive experience in designing plants for the chemical and defense industries, guarantees that the documentation will be prepared with the utmost care and in accordance with safety requirements. This is a key step on the path to building a facility of strategic importance for the development of Poland’s defense potential.

Completion of the design phase will enable preparations for the construction of the facility, which responds to the increased market interest in high-energy materials and is part of efforts to build the country’s defense potential. Furthermore, the project is expected to strengthen NITRO-CHEM S.A.’s position as one of the leading producers of explosives on international markets.”
